Details: On the night of March 22, 2009, An unknown man forces his way into the rural mobile home of Jake and Betty Jane McClellan, demanding guns and money. He shoots at the elderly couple. Despite being shot in the face and neck, Jake survives the attack and was able to flag down a car for help. However, Betty Jane was killed in the back bedroom.
Suspects: The man who murdered Betty Jane is described as a white male in his forties at the time. He was approximately 5'7"-5'8" tall, and between 150-170 lbs. The suspect had brown hair that was shoulder length at the time.
Betty Jane's adult daughter, Shelley James, has expressed her suspicions about Jake being involved in her mother's death, despite already being ruled out by police. Jake had a Life Insurance on Betty Jane that he collected after her murder. Jake also acted rather jovial at his wife's funeral.
