Case[]

Details: Four-year-old Christopher Sloan is a child who was abducted from his mother's residence in Richland, Washington, on Wednesday, November 27, 1985, the night before Thanksgiving. His non-custodial father, Ruskin "Russ" Edwin Sloan, attacked Carol, his ex-wife and Christopher's mother, binding and gagging her. He then abducted him, with the assistance of his girlfriend, Cindy Donnel McCulley. Russ Sloan's car was later found in La Grande, Oregon on Wednesday, April 23, 1986; it appeared that it had been abandoned for some time.
Suspects: Ruskin "Russ" Edwin Sloan and Cindy Donnel McCulley.
Extra Notes: This case first aired on April 23, 1986 as part of Missing... Have You Seen This Person? Special #3.
Results: Solved. On Thursday, May 22, 1986, a woman dropped a boy off at the home of a babysitter in Amarillo, Texas, who agreed to watch him for the night, even though she did not know either the woman or child. The next day, instead of picking the child up, the woman called the babysitter to inform her that the boy's name was Christopher Sloan and that he was a missing child. She contacted police, who verified his identity. He was reunited with his mother, Carol, in Texas on Saturday, May 24, 1986. The babysitter identified the woman as McCulley via a photo line-up.

Police theorized that with law enforcement pressure on their families and friends preventing Ruskin Sloan and Cindy McCulley from finding assistance, as well as increased scrutiny following the airing of the Missing special, the two argued and went their separate ways. McCulley then turned Christopher over to the babysitter in an effort to more easily evade the law.

"Russ" Sloan and Cindy D. McCulley were wanted on charges of felony assault, unlawful imprisonment, custodial interference, and unlawful flight. At this time, it is not known if they were ever arrested or, if they were, the outcomes of their trials.
