Details: Ed and Gladys Scherbey went to check on their son, thirty-eight-year old logger, Corey, as they have heard from in days. Using a spare key to enter his home, Gladys made the horrifying discovery of her son's dead body kneeling on the floor and head jammed between the couch cushions. An autopsy revealed that Corey's cause of death was intoxication of Cocaine and Alcohol. The Royal Mounted Canadian Police ruled Corey's death as accidental and quickly closed the case. Corey's parents disagreed with the ruling, believing that has been a rush to judgement.
They noted that they was bloody footprints in Corey's home that was not analyzed. The legal consultant that the family also not Corey's body was not found in a natural resting position. He also put into questioned that if Corey was using drugs, why was there no needle marks on his body. Eventually, an inquest into Corey's death was issued in 2018. However, the inquest completed 2020 upheld the original ruling of an accidental death.
