Case[]
Details: Forty-one-year-old Eric Keller and his wife Karen met in Pennsylvania in 1982. They later moved to Readington, New Jersey. When he got a job at Silicon Graphics in San Jose, California, she decided to stay behind in New Jersey. On January 9, 1999, Eric left his San Jose condo to go on a skiing trip at the Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. When he didn't return that evening, his family became concerned. A missing persons report was filed the next day. On the same afternoon, Eric's car was found abandoned near Interstate 80 in Vacaville. On January 11, Eric's partially clothed body was discovered in a field about a half mile from where his car was found; he had died from blunt force trauma. His injuries led police to describe the crime as a "torture murder".
Suspects: Police are looking for two people wanted for questioning in the murder. The two men were seen near the crime scene on January 10, and were described as two males, one white, about 6'0, with shoulder length hair, and the second was dark skinned, with short black hair. The vehicle they drove in was a cream colored 80s model Dodge Caravan or Pymouth Voyager. They have never been identified.
Police have looked into the possibility that Eric's murder was an anti-gay hate crime, as he was a closet bisexual. No evidence has been found to support this theory, however.
Extra Notes: The case has appeared on the show Haunting Evidence.
Results: Unsolved
