Details: Francisco Flores is wanted for abducting his children, Tammy and Diego Flores, from their mother, Griselda Gonzalez. According to Griselda, while they were together, Francisco had a volatile temper, was unpredictable, and was abusive toward her. When Diego was one, Francisco began spanking him. When Griselda tried to intervene, he beat her. After that incident, she left him and filed for divorce. They shared joint custody of Tammy and Diego.
On October 21, 2007, Griselda brought three-year-old Tammy and two-year-old Diego to the Ontario Police Department and handed them over to Francisco for a custody visit. He was supposed to have them for a week before returning them to Griselda.
On October 23, Griselda called Francisco's house in Victorville, California, ninety miles north of Los Angeles. No one answered. She called several times but got no response. It appeared that his phone had been turned off. She went to the house to check on them, but no one was there. She immediately went to the police.
On October 31, Griselda was awarded full custody of Tammy and Diego. Investigators believe Francisco had been planning the abduction for weeks. They discovered that just days before he disappeared, he had refinanced his house and sold his car, receiving more than $100,000 in cash. Around the same time, he abruptly quit his job at a cable company without notice. He had been a model employee there for ten years.
On January 18, 2008, a felony warrant for kidnapping was issued for Francisco. He, Tammy, and Diego may have stayed in the local area or traveled to Oregon or Mexico. Francisco has family members in Mexico City. Investigators believe his family and/or friends are helping him. Griselda fears that since she is no longer around, Francisco may be abusing Tammy and Diego instead.
Francisco has dual citizenship in the U.S. and Mexico. He is Hispanic and was born on April 23, 1974. When last seen, he was 6'0" tall and weighed 210 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes, and multiple moles on his face (one on each cheek, one under his nose, and one on his chin). He has thick eyebrows. He may have grown his hair long and grown a beard. He may be driving a blue 2002 Toyota Sienna Sedan van with California license plates.
