Details: Fred Gardner of Grand Rapids, Michigan, disappeared in 1961 after separating from his wife, Sandra. He left behind a son named Gary, and a daughter named Katherine. Twenty-six years later, William Fenshaw of Monticello, New York, disappeared under nearly identical circumstances. He left behind three sons and a daughter. Incredibly, in 1990, it was learned that Fred and William were the same person. Now, all six of his children are anxious to reunite with him.
Extra Notes:
- This case first aired on the November 20, 1991 episode as part of a "Lost Loves" roll call, along with those of Ellie Taylor and Patrick Ackles. The roll call was featured after an update on The Mother of Carla Downing.
- It was excluded from the FilmRise release of the Robert Stack episodes.
- Some sources state William had three daughters and a son.
Results: Solved. In 1992, Fred was located and reunited with his six children. Sadly, he passed away in Harris, New York, on November 4, 1994, at the age of sixty-two. He was surrounded by all of his children.
