Details: On October 29, 1988, James Lacouture and his brother David left James's home to go to Hardwick, Massachusetts, to work on a home that David was building in a remote part of the city, but they changed their minds and went to a local pub instead. Later that day, James's wife found a drunk David asleep on her couch. He told her that James was home too, but he wasn't, so she went to Hardwick to look for him, but when she couldn't find him, she called police. Authorities first thought that he would return soon, but as they weeks pass, they assumed that James had met with foul play. Then, five days after James vanished, David commited suicide; a suicide note that he wrote had no indication of his brother's whereabouts, and police cannot determine if David's suicide was connected to James's disappearance. James's family believes he is dead and they had him declared legally dead, but he is still missing.
