Upon arrival, an unidentified man invited them out for a trip in their boat which proved to have horrible consequences. Extra Notes: This segment originally aired as part of a Special Edition of "The Diabolical Mind" on the November 3, 1991 episode of Unsolved Mysteries . It also ran on Forensic Files on Court TV and on A Current Affair.
Results: Solved. The man who offered Joanne and her daughters the boat ride was later arrested on an unrelated case and linked to their murders. Fisherman Oba Chandler was subsequently connected and indicted in the murders of Joanne and her daughters. Chandler was sentenced to death and he was executed on November 15, 2011.
