Case
Details: Joan Rogers took her daughters, Michelle and Christie, with her on vacation to Tampa, Florida. Upon arrival, an unidentified man invited them out for a trip in a boat, which proved to have horrible consequences. Hours after accepting the seemingly gracious offer, they were left dead at sea, their lifeless bodies eventually getting discovered after three days. They had been bound and gagged at their hands and feet. They had nothing but t-shirts on, and had most likely been sexually assaulted. Their killer had tied concrete blocks around each of their necks before throwing each of them overboard to drown in Tampa Bay.

Suspects: At episode time, the killer remained unidentified, and the police were asking for clues to his identity.
Extra Notes: This case first aired as part of a Special Edition of "The Diabolical Mind" on the November 3, 1991 episode. It was also profiled on Forensic Files, The New Detectives, A Current Affair, and On the Case with Paula Zahn.
Results: Solved. The man who offered Joan, Michelle, and Christie the boat ride was later arrested on an unrelated case and linked to their murders. Fisherman Oba Chandler was subsequently connected and indicted in their murders. He was sentenced to death and executed on November 15, 2011.
