Real Name: Jodie L. Bordeaux and Jordan Shay, unborn daughter
Nicknames: Jodi Bordeaux
Location: Powhattan, Kansas
Date: November 21, 1997

Case

Details: Jodie Bordeaux and her husband Shawn lived on a small farmhouse on the Kickapoo Indian reservation in Powhattan, Kansas, and worked for the Golden Eagle, an Indian casino, which was the first on the reservation. Shawn, who was part Lakota Indian, and Jodie were part of the management team hired to run the casino, although the Kickapoo Tribal Council made the final decisions. Shawn and Jodie during this time were trying to start a family, and after several miscarriages and meeting with a fertility expert, the young couple's dreams had come true: Jodie was pregnant with a baby girl. Everything seemed to be going Jodie's way; not only did she have a great marriage and was soon having a child, she also was promoted to staff supervisor of the slot machine department. As part of her job, she had to oversee each of the employee's performance, and had to file reports about their behavior, and if they didn't improve it, they were brought before the council and put on probation. One of the employees had a bad attitude and disliked Jodie's high position in the casino. He was later put on probation and eventually was fired. Then, just weeks later, a grievance was brought up against Jodie, presumably by the fired employee, and she was fired as a result. For the next month, Jodie petitioned to get her job back, but soon began receiving disturbing anonymous phone calls. Then, on the night of November 21, 1997, Jodie and Shawn heard strange noises outside along with their dog barking at an unknown presence. Shawn followed the dog outside to the back porch, and then an unknown assailant wielding a high-powered rifle broke in and began shooting throughout the house, finally shooting Jodie to death. Shawn realized that Jodie was dead, but called 911 in order to save their unborn daughter, but tragically she too died soon after. Despite an exhaustive investigation, the person responsible for their deaths has not been identified and no arrests have been made, however Shawn hopes that somebody will come forward to solve his wife and unborn daughter's murders. A $5,000 reward is being offered in this case.
Suspects: The worker that was angered at Jodie is suspected in this case.
