Details: In June 1987, eighteen-year-old college student Joe McCarthy was returning to his home in Wausau, Wisconsin when he was killed in a car accident. His parents wondered if they would ever learn if he was okay. Three days after his funeral, his father was in the garage when he found the angel that topped the Christmas tree, which was odd since the tree was in the attic and it was June. While his mother was vacuuming, she found another Christmas ornament on the floor. They found that Joe was written on it, and they felt that it was a sign that he was okay.
Extra Notes: This case first aired on the November 13, 1997 episode, along with those of Herman Stegos and Michael Landon.
Results: Unsolved. Joe's mother, Kathleen, passed away on May 24, 2024 at the age of 80.
