Joseph and Lois Krantz

Real Name: Joseph A. Krantz
Aliases: Joseph Arthur Board
Wanted For: Murder, Kidnapping
Missing Since: August 5, 1992

Details: Joseph and Lois Krantz of Kalamazoo, Michigan, had been married for fourteen years and had two daughters. Their marriage was far from perfect as Joseph had been in and out of prison for several years. He had previously been convicted on charges of burglary, fraud, theft, and forgery.
On July 31, 1992, he was released from prison after serving two-and-a-half months for embezzlement and parole violation. At the time, thirty-nine-year-old Lois was pregnant with the couple's third child. Recently, she had contacted legal aid about getting a divorce. On August 5, he arrived at Lois's apartment and kidnapped her at gunpoint in front of her children and her friend, Janise McCrea. He forced her into a car and the two vanished.
That night, he called his mother and told her that he had killed Lois and dumped her body near a lake, about thirty miles away. Three days later, her body was found in the area where her husband described. She had been shot to death. On August 12, she was laid to rest. Her two daughters are now safe with relatives. Joseph is now wanted for her murder, along with that of their unborn child. Authorities believe he may now be in Florida.
Extra Notes: This case first aired in the September 23, 1992 episode as a part of a Special Alert, along with Martha Doe Roberts.
