Missing Since: November 1993

Case[]

Details: In November of 1993, thirty-three-year-old Cleveland, Ohio resident Kevin Dominic was indicted on charges of child abuse and molestation against his children. He had apparently raped, abused, and molested his daughters for over a decade. After Kevin and his wife divorced, their oldest daughter told police about what their father had done to them and he was arrested. However, before he could stand trial, he vanished.
Weeks later, his family members and ex-wife received letters claiming that Dominic was planning on committing suicide by drowning. His car was later found abandoned near Lake Erie; inside were some photographs of him and a suicide note. However, a few days later, Dominic was photographed by an ATM camera as he withdrew the remaining funds from his account. Investigators believe he is still alive and has created a new identity.
Extra Notes:

  • This case first aired as a Special Bulletin on the February 9, 1996 episode of Unsolved Mysteries.
  • It was excluded from the FilmRise release of the series.

Results: Captured. In May of 2004, Dominic was arrested in Florida while living under the assumed name "Kevin Thompson". A detective assigned to the cold case was able to locate a woman named Wyonnene Carroll who met him in 1999, knew him under his alias, and gave them his current address. He was later convicted of the rape and molestation charges and given two life sentences. He will not be eligible for parole until 2025.
