Case[]

Details: Fifty six year old bank fraud investigator Lee Young was last seen leaving a restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona at 12:30PM on May 4, 1990. Later that day, three calls were made from his car phone to a pay phone and to a woman who denied ever talking to him. On May 5, his Lincoln Town Car was found engulfed in flames in the desert a day later 100 miles south of Phoenix, AZ.
One theory was that Lee was killed during a robbery. He was known to carry large amounts of cash and jewelry that he bought and sold; however, thousands of dollars worth of jewelry was found still in the trunk of his car. The only jewelry that was missing was his personal Rolex watch. Also missing was his briefcase that he kept his files in.
Another theory is that Lee was silenced for his investigation into money laundering by a Colombian drug cartel. The cartel allegedly was using the bank he worked at for their operation. Several months before his disappearance, he contacted federal agents that dealt with drug smuggling. A week before he vanished, he tried to reach the agents, without success.
Lee's wife, Connie, hopes that someone saw his plum colored Lincoln Town Car the day he vanished or his Rolex watch in hopes of gathering more clues and solving the case.
Suspects: It's been postulated that Lee's death might have been caused by members of a Colombian drug cartel. The killers may have wanted to destroy his bank fraud investigation records. It is believed that one of the killers may have made the phone calls from his car.
Extra Notes: This case first aired on the February 5, 1992 episode.
