Details: Twenty five year old Lt. Charlie Guess was an army pilot who vanished on July 22, 1958, after leaving Bishop, California, on route to Winnemucca, Nevada. Charlie had previously been stationed at Camp Desert Rock and Ft. Ord, along with his friend, Lt. Paul Whipkey. Paul had mysteriously vanished from Ft. Ord just a few days earlier.
A little over a year later, in September 1959, Charlie's remains were found near a crashed plane, just northwest of Death Valley. Strangely, the wreckage showed a different serial number from the plane that he had taken off in. Some suspect that Charlie's mysterious death may be connected to Paul's disappearance.
