Details: Every year, drunk drivers take thousands of innocent lives. The California Highway Patrol hopes to find a repeat DUI offender, thirty-three-year-old Nasario Calderon Palacios of Oxnard, California. He is wanted for vehicular homicide and felony DUI. On August 22, 1992, he was driving a 1981 Buick southbound on Highway 101 in Ventura County, California. At around 9:40pm, while driving at a high speed, his car hit a guardrail, flipped over, and landed on top of a vehicle driven by twenty-one-year-old Anthony Patrick Moya of Simi Valley. Although he was wearing a seatbelt, Anthony was thrown from his car and dragged along the freeway. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Two passengers were in his car; they survived.
When Palacios was arrested at the scene, he was apparently so intoxicated that he passed out in the back of the patrol car. He was booked on charges of DUI and vehicular homicide. He was released on bail after three days in jail. He did not show up at a court hearing in September 1992. He has been wanted ever since.
In August 1993, one of the passengers in Anthony's car sued Palacios for unspecified damages. The outcome of the suit is not known.
Palacios is 5'7" and weighs 130 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and possibly has a scar on his forehead.
