Details: Regina Martinez is wanted for kidnapping her son, Luis, from his father, Luis Roberto Aragon-Alderete. They met in 2010 and divorced in 2014. Afterward, Luis Roberto was awarded primary custody of Luis, while Regina received visitation rights. Luis Roberto said that Luis loves ice cream, playing with his toy train, and hide and seek.
On June 1, 2015, Luis Roberto dropped three-year-old Luis off at his preschool in El Paso, Texas. Later that day, he returned to take him home, only to learn that Regina had already picked him up. Luis Roberto tried to call and text her, but she never responded.
Luis Roberto immediately contacted the police, who began a search for Luis and Regina. On February 18, 2016, she was charged with felony kidnapping. She may have taken Luis to her hometown of Chihuahua, Mexico, where she has family.
Several billboards have been set up throughout Texas that feature Luis' picture and information. Over the years, Luis Roberto has contacted several police departments, hired a lawyer, and hired a private investigator in Mexico. The investigator located Luis in Mexico City, but less than a day later, he was moved to an unknown location. Due to a lack of cooperation between local authorities and the U.S. Department of State, Luis Roberto has had trouble locating him in Mexico.
Luis Roberto said he worries about Luis' safety, whether he has enough food, a place to live, and is getting an education. He also wants him to be happy.
Regina was born on May 10, 1988. She is 5'4", weighs 120 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. She is of Mexican descent.
