DearFamily of Katherine,
I recently came across this article and was engrossed by the details of this mystery. Mostly, due to the fact that there appears to have really never been a resolution of solid answer to what happened to Katherine.
My name is Lori DYER and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. A few short years back I discovered that I have an uncanny ability to recall a scene happening and have had the names of those involved matched to a precise T.
When I read the story of Katherine, I immediately saw that day. The mother at the mailbox. The side door swinging open. It's as if I was there in that moment. And the following is what I see to have occurred next.....
The adjacent lot had cars parked there that day. There was a man in his truck taking a break. He went there very often. It appears as if he was in a mailman truck. He was in uniform. I don't like admitting this detail, but it is what I see...he masturbates there. Sometimes sleeps. He watches the single mothers and their children (sometimes on bikes) come to get their mail. I hear the name George. It's either his name or a child he's waiting for. He was watching you and knew that you told Katherine that she may walk. He even saw you point in which direction she was to go. Katherine initially was excited to take a very short ride with this mail carrier. When she saw his look, she sensed danger. She became very uncomfortable and fought tooth and nail. She jumped out of vehicle while it was moving. He tried to stop her by hitting her over the head with a bar of some sort. It happened in seconds time. Convincing himself it was an accident, he straightened her hair and body. He cried and kept saying sorry. He left.
