Real Name: Unknown
Aliases: None Known
Wanted For: Armed Robbery
Missing Since: 1994

Case[]

Details: An unknown robber has held up a dozen Florida banks since January 1993, all in the greater Tampa Bay area. In each case, he approaches the bank teller and gives them an envelope, usually a Federal Express mailer. Inside is a note telling the teller to hand over the cash. He then says he has a bomb and will detonate it via remote control and kill everyone, including himself, if his demands are not met. Sometimes, he is seen with a small box with a red button, or a foil-wrapped package with wires. He also claims he has planted a second bomb in the women’s restroom or elsewhere.
The robber is between forty-five and fifty years old (in 1994), 6’0” to 6’2” tall, and 190 pounds. He has brown hair, but disguises his appearance by wearing a toupee, stage makeup with face putty, or sunglasses that conceal a deformed left eye (with either moles or warts). He is usually well-dressed. He may be driving a red truck with a Florida Challenger license tag. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
Extra Notes:

  • This case first aired on the April 13, 1994 episode as part of a roll call of wanted bank robbers, also including Deroy King, Jr and unknown Miami Robber and Southern California Robber.
  • It was excluded from the FilmRise release of the Robert Stack episodes.
  • Although not named as such in the segment, the robber was known as the "Fed-Ex Robber" by police due to his usage of a Federal Express mailer in most of the robberies.

Results: Wanted - By November 1994, the robber had held up sixteen banks. He may have also been involved in robbing women’s clothing stores in the Tampa Bay area. It is not known if he was ever identified or captured.
